NIGER. SAHARAN BEAUTY

In 2022, my long-held dream came true: I reached Niger to attend the Gerewol Festival - a rare male beauty contest of the Wodaabe tribe (part of the nomadic Fulani group). This magical event, organised in the middle of the desert, is a spectacle of colours, dance, and intricately prepared outfits complemented by jewellery. All of this is done to highlight the beauty of the men competing for the title of the most handsome.
