Bengal and Bangladesh

Introduction
Bengal, a region stretching from West Bengal in India to Bangladesh, is a land of rivers, monsoons, and extraordinary density of life. My expedition to this place was an attempt to capture the local community and its daily struggle for survival, which unfolds in the shadow of great river currents and an enormous population. Here you will see portraits of people living at the limits of possibility, yet full of dignity. Through the lens of my camera, I document their traditional attire, colourful rituals, and craftsmanship, which is often the only way to support their families. This is a fascinating story of contrasts: between natural beauty and extreme poverty; between historical identity and the dynamism of the contemporary world.
