Summary of travel in 2025

The year 2025 was a year of great comebacks for me. I took two trips – to Colombia and Uzbekistan. Although I had been to both countries before, this time my experiences went much deeper, touching on the essence of local cultures and traditions.
In Colombia, I felt at home. During my first visit, I was welcomed so warmly that I knew I had to return. We visited tribes living on land granted to them by the state by the river, where they make a living from growing yucca. It's an amazing feeling when, at the end of the world, you meet people who remember you from last year and welcome you like a member of their family.
The most moving moment of the trip was reaching a place shrouded in legend. The tribes led us deep into the jungle, to a hole hidden in the ground, from which, according to their mythology, man originated. We searched for this place for a long time, but the effort paid off. It was a historic and extremely personal moment – we were the first two women to be allowed to see this sacred place, previously accessible only to men. This gesture of trust and allowing us into their sacred sphere was the greatest honour for me. The culmination of this trip will be an exhibition of photographs from Colombia, which will probably take place at the end of the year. Details coming soon!
My second trip, to Uzbekistan, had a completely different but equally important dimension. This time, I wanted to show this beautiful country to my family, but my goal was also to acquire unique Uzbek jewellery, especially traditional headdresses. I am fascinated by this subject, which is why I treat every item I acquire in different regions of the country as a treasure. I have good news: the unique items I brought back will soon see the light of day at the MoJA Jewellery Museum.
However, I will remember Uzbekistan not only through the prism of objects, but above all through its people – their extraordinary warmth, invitations to their homes and shared meals.
What will 2026 bring?
My head is full of ideas and I have an ‘endless’ list of places to visit. I am preparing many projects, so stay tuned for news, because reports from more extraordinary places will definitely appear here. Thank you for being with me on this journey!
